Liberia: A Fragile Peace
This one-hour documentary tells the story of a war weary people’s struggle to rebuild their nation. After fourteen years of a civil war fought largely by children, the bloodshed finally spilled onto the streets of Monrovia, the capital city, in the summer of 2003. And the world finally took notice of this once prosperous country now reduced to ruins at the hands of dictator Charles Taylor and his enemies.
This film goes behind the headlines to explore what really happened to this nation founded by former American slaves, and realistically appraises the hopes and fears about what happens next.
